Board seeks approval for new Forest Glade School plans

The Greater Essex County District School Board has submitted the design and budget of the new Forest Glade public school to the Ministry of Education.

The design and budget of the kindergarten through Grade 8 school to replace Eastwood and Parkview Public Schools was approved at Tuesday's board meeting. The design was completed by Walter Fedy Architects out of Kitchener.

"I do know that in the community between Eastwood and Parkview they were fairly excited about the fact that it wasn't going to be such an open concept school," said Superintendent Todd Awender.

The budget for the new school is $13.2 million. The new school will be built on the site of the current Parkview Public School. If the timeline goes according to plan the school would open in September 2021.
