Rotary TV Auction Friday and Saturday

One of Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair's biggest fundraisers will kick off Friday night, the 33rd Annual Rotary TV Auction.

It gets underway at 7 p.m. on YourTV, cable 11.

Over nine hours on Friday and Saturday nights, more than 400 items will be up for auction.

"The large assortment of goodies hasn't been this interesting in years," said Auction Chair Terry Cloutier. "Our warehouse is busting at the seams with automotive goods, electronics, gift certificates, travel packages -- we are even offering a toilet."

The full inventory is listed online, and the bid line is 519-250-1100.

"The key to picking up a fabulous tax-free bargain is to identify which items you would like to compete for and then bid early, and often," said organizer Mary Lou Decou.

Winning bidders will be able to pick up their items Sunday, December 8 and Monday, December 9, at Marcotte Funeral Home in Tecumseh.

Proceeds this year will support a therapeutic greenhouse at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, basic needs for Windsor's homeless, and Rotary's continued efforts to eradicate polio around the world.

The Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair hopes to raise $60,000.

Some of the celebrity auctioneers this year include Phatt Matt Franklin, Jay Marchillo, and Mary Keeping of MIX 96.7 FM, Chris Lukas of Country 95.9, and Adelle Loiselle of BlackburnNews.com.
