Number of properties still dropping in Windsor real estate

While home prices continued to rise in Windsor-Essex in November, the number of listings is dropping.

According to the November 2019 sales figures released Wednesday by the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors (WECAR), the total number of properties sold in the city and county was 461, compared to 476 for last November.  This accounts for a 3.15 per cent drop.

The average sale price for a home in Windsor-Essex continued its rise in November, at $340.366. The average price in November 2018 was $296,853. This is a year-to-year increase of 14.7 per cent.

WECAR also reported that the number of properties currently for sale in November was 559, an over 2.4 per cent fall from 2018, when there were 573 listings. However, when the report was released on Wednesday, there was a total of 973 properties up for sale in Windsor-Essex.

Bungalow-style homes were the most popular in November, with 86, followed by two-story homes at 74, one-and-a-half-story and raised ranch-style homes with 64 apiece, then ranch homes at 59.
