Honouring those who have passed at Erie Shores Healthcare

Erie Shores Healthcare in Leamington is holding a special event to honour those who have passed over the past year.

The 25th annual Lights of Life is Sunday, December 1, at 7 p.m. outside the main entrance of the hospital on Fader Street.

Through November, the Erie Shores Healthcare Spiritual Care Committee and volunteers gathered donations in memory and honour of loved ones who have passed at the hospital.

During Sunday's event, the names of those loved ones will be read aloud, followed by a tree lighting display, and an evening of memory and song.

"The Spiritual Care Committee and our teams here at Erie Shores HealthCare have made this a special time for our hospital and our patients and families who want to honour and remember those they've lost this year. Our care extends to our community, and we're proud to be able to be part of this tradition for so many," said CEO Janice Dawson.

At the centre of the display will be the Celebration Tree, which will be lit with more than 3,500 high efficiency LED lights.

Essex Power donated the lights.

Donations were also collected at Shoppers Drug Mart and IDA in the Leamington area to help families in need.
