TWEPI encouraging hotel stays

If you're not looking forward to an overcrowded house this holiday season you may want to consider an area hotel.

Over 15 Windsor-Essex hotels are offering discounted rates over the holidays in partnership with Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island.

"Everyone loves when the in-laws visit or your favourite aunt or uncle over the holidays but there's nothing like letting them retreat to a private hotel room and then you get your own bathroom and your own bed at the end of the night," said Gordon Orr, CEO of TWEPI.

The holiday season is typically not a busy time for area hotels so TWEPI created the "Home for the Holidays" campaign to increase hotel stays. The discounted rates and hotel packages are available now through the New Year.

"We have some great hotel offerings like we've never had before, great flags, superior accommodations, ranging from every price point and that's why we want you to take advantage as your family and friends come this holiday season," said Orr

According to Orr, over the last three to five years, more than $76 million has been spent on downtown hotels to modernize or rebrand the accommodations.

TWEPI also launched a new digital itinerary builder to help visitors plan their visits and highlight events and activities throughout the area.
