Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles has issued a recall notice for almost 700,000 vehicles worldwide, including 34,764 in Canada.
Affected are the Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee built between 2011 and 2014.
"Feedback from FCA dealers lead to an FCA investigation that discovered silicon deposits on the contact points of certain fuel pump relays may interrupt electrical current and prevent engine start-up or contribute to stall," read a release from the company.
FCA is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to the fault.
It said affected customers can schedule service free of charge, and anyone with a question can call 1-800-853-1403.
