Nature Fresh Farms, South Essex Fabricating and its employees will be giving back to over 30 local families this holiday season.
The company asked community members to nominate families who could use some extra holiday cheer.
"Every family that is nominated is really worthy, it's not that there are people nominated who really don't need it, it's just really a matter of picking the ones that are most in need, it's very difficult," said owner Peter Quiring.
Each family chosen will receive a $500 grocery store gift card and $200 worth of groceries for a holiday meal.
Originally, Nature Fresh Farms and South Essex Fabricating were each going to sponsor 10 families. But when employees heard of the plan many came forward with their own donations to support more families.
"It kind of took off and so pretty soon departments said that maybe individuals can't sponsor a family but let's just say the marketing team or the maintenance team are also getting together and getting in on it," said Quiring.
Families will be selected over the next coming weeks and their prize will be delivered in December.
