Charge laid in fatal Amherstburg motorcycle crash

Windsor police have charged a driver following a fatal August motorcycle collision.

According to Sergeant Steve Betteridge, the driver of the Ford Escape involved in the crash has been charged with failing to make a safe turn in a community safety zone.

The WPS Amherstburg detachment responded to the incident shortly after 5 p.m. on August 29 on Middle Side Road near Concession Road 3 North. A black Yamaha motorcycle had collided with a green Ford Escape.

The female motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released additional details of the charge, but the public is again reminded to see and be seen while on the roads, regardless of the vehicle used. Anyone with a traffic concern may report it to police at the Road Watch page of its official website.
