Police looking for witnesses to serious collision

Windsor police are looking for witnesses to a crash that sent two people to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened on Monday at around 2:30 a.m on University Avenue between Campbell Avenue and Bridge Avenue. Police said a silver Jeep Liberty collided with a light pole and the front of a restaurant.

There were no patrons inside the restaurant. The female driver and an adult male passenger were sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second male passenger was sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Forensic Identification Unit and the Traffic Reconstruction Unit attended and processed the scene.

The collision remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash or may have seen the vehicle before the crash to contact them. They are also asking anyone who may have surveillance video of the incident to contact them.
