Mulroney reaffirms commitment to Highway 3 expansion

The Minister of Transportation travelled to Windsor Thursday to reiterate the promises made in the government's fall economic statement.

Caroline Mulroney spoke about government priorities to a room filled with local officials at the Windsor-Essex Economic Development Corporation luncheon.

Mulroney said the widening of Highway 3 between Essex and Leamington remains a priority.

"We're still proceeding with plans to get things started by 2021, we're in the EA process. I don't have a more specific update but obviously it's a priority of our government," said Mulroney.

Mulroney also spoke about the province's 10-year auto strategy and a commitment to modernizing the skilled trades and apprenticeship programs. As well, she met with Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens Thursday afternoon to discuss the priorities of the community.
