Windsor firefighters were busy battling an apartment fire in the 500 block of Louis Avenue on Sunday.
Crews quickly got the fire knocked down and under control around 6:03 p.m.
Windsor Fire confirmed around 8:53 p.m. that one person who was rescued from the fire has died.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's office and WFRS are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.
