Homicide victim leaves behind girlfriend and two children

Two GoFundMe campaigns have been set up by friends of Windsor's fifth homicide victim of the year in a bid to help the girlfriend and two children he left behind.

Justin Greenwood, 20, was fatally stabbed Saturday afternoon in the area of Tecumseh Road West and McKay Avenue.

Police initiated the search for two suspects who fled the area in a waiting vehicle.

Around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, officers found the suspected getaway vehicle on Wyandotte Street East at Marentette Avenue and arrested the driver. Mustafa Al-Qaysi, 19, is charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are looking for suspects.

The first was a man with a slim build, wearing a grey-hooded sweater with a black Roots logo of a beaver on the front, grey jogging pants, and white running shoes.

The second suspect was also a slim man wearing a grey hooded sweater, black pants, black flip-flops with white on the top, and black socks.

There may be more than the two suspects outstanding. Police said they are still working to "determine how many suspects were in the involved vehicle."

Greenwood leaves behind his girlfriend, Hailey Cote, a two-year-old and a seven-month-old baby.

A GoFundMe campaign set up by Kyle Walters has collected $755.

"Friends and family are heartbroken," read Walters campaign. "This is strictly to raise for the children he left behind and his family. We lost a good friend, family member, and father. And this is simply to help his family in this hard time, as I know he would have done the same for a lot of us."

The second is dedicated to funeral costs for Greenwood. So far, it has raised $3,650.

Police urge anyone with information about the homicide to call the Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477, or leave a tip online at www.catchcrooks.com.
