Police release person of interest photo in fatal Leamington hit and run

Leamington OPP have released photos of the person and vehicle of interest involved in a fatal hit and run and are continuing to appeal to the public for assistance.

According to provincial police, around 9:45 a.m. on October 9 a brown or gold-coloured mid-sized sport utility vehicle exiting the driveway of The Superstore on Talbot Street East in Leamington struck an electric wheelchair causing the occupant to fall out.

The injuries were initially thought to be non-life threatening however the victim, 85-year-old Joyce Morency of Leamington, eventually died from her injuries at the hospital.

The vehicle involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene and was last seen travelling westbound on Talbot Street East.

Police say they would like to speak to the owner of the vehicle and person pictured in the photo.
