Shoppers at Devonshire Mall will not have to hunt the halls for a map anymore to get around. They can get that information on their smartphone.
It has partnered with Mapsted, the first company to do so.
The mall hopes to launch the app this fall.
In addition to helping patrons get around, those with the app will also be able to access a personalized news feed with all the information about sales taking place in the mall.
"Devonshire Mall is proud of the recent redevelopment of the shopping centre inclusive of many new initiatives and welcomes Mall mApp in our effort to add to the strong customer service the centre provides to our customers," said General Manager Chris Savard.
Mapsted is a Canadian technology firm that does not rely on external hardware to determine position. It holds 40 patents and has over 50 others pending.
Mapsted SDK provides indoor mapping for airports, museums and art galleries, colleges and universities, trade shows, and parks.
