Senior in wheelchair struck in hit and run

Ontario Provincial Police officers are looking for a brown or gold coloured vehicle that struck a senior in a wheelchair and then took off.

Around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, the vehicle was leaving the parking lot of the Superstore on Talbot St. E in Leamington. The car struck the occupant of an electric wheelchair who was travelling eastbound crossing at the light.

Due to the collision, the 85-year-old fell out of the wheelchair. The senior was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle did not remain on the scene and was last seen driving westbound on Talbot St. E.

The OPP is asking anyone with any information about the driver or vehicle to come forward. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
