It's business as usual at schools throughout Windsor and Essex County.
The province reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees and its 55,000 members Sunday night. Ratification votes on the agreement will be held later this month. If necessary, negotiations on the local level will take place after that.
The Greater Essex County District School Board announced Monday that community use of schools will continue October 7, 2019.
Parents can breathe a sigh of relief for now, but labour negotiations are not over for the year. The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario is holding strike votes throughout October as its collective agreement expired on August 31, 2019.
