Essex boil water advisory lifted

The boil water advisory issued for some Essex residents has now been lifted.

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit issued a boil water advisory on September 17, 2019 for residents living in the area bounded by County Road 12, from the Arner Townline (County Road 23) west to the intersection of the Chrysler Canada Greenway, and South Malden from the Arner Townline (County Road 23) to Walker Road (County Road 11).

Town of Essex staff flushed the system after water samples came back adverse. The water was tested after the flush of the system and the health unit deemed the water safe to drink.

According to the health unit, a boil water advisory is put in place to protect people from harmful organisms that may be in their water and can cause people to become sick.
