New University of Windsor president wants to listen

The new president at the University of Windsor is looking forward to making connections with the community to improve life on campus.

President Robert Gordon arrived in Windsor three weeks ago and he says his first priority is to listen and learn from faculty, staff, students and community stakeholders.

"For me, developing relationships personally and partnerships are key for our success in the future. Given some of the challenges that all universities face this is a key need for us to continue to build on," said Gordon during his first formal address to the university.

While referencing the budget process Gordon stated there will be some difficult decisions to make.

"But I'm confident given the quality of our academic programs and the other support programs that we provide within the institution we are going to do extremely well," said Gordon.

Before his arrival in Windsor, Gordon was the Vice President of Academic at Wilfrid Laurier University. He's originally from Nova Scotia.
