The new president of the University of Windsor will lay out his vision for the campus Monday.
Dr. Robert Gordon, who is the school's seventh president and vice-chancellor, will deliver his first major address to the campus community during a lunch event at the CAW Student Centre's Alumni Auditorium.
Gordon took the job on September 1, succeeding Dr. Douglas Kneale, who became interim president upon the retirement of Dr. Alan Wildeman. Kneale returns to his role as provost and vice-president of academics.
The new president comes to Windsor after a stint as provost and vice-president of academics at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he also served as the university's vice-president of research. He is an authority on agricultural and environmental issues.
Before Laurier, Gordon was at the University of Guelph, serving as dean of the Ontario Agricultural College, and as dean of research at Nova Scotia Agricultural College. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering at McGill University and his doctorate in land resource science at Guelph.
