There's a changing of the "bark" at the Windsor Police Service.
Police dog Rony is retiring and new police dog Rolex is being introduced.
The formal announcement was made on Monday at noon at the Windsor Police Service Training Facility in west Windsor.
Rony joined the police service in September of 2010. During his career, he and his handler, Sergeant Patti Pastorius, responded to over 3,500 calls for service, assisted in over 120 arrests, and on several occasions, won first place trophies in competitions held with the United States Police Canine Association.
Rolex will be taking Rony's place and hitting the road effective immediately. Rolex is a German Shepherd and arrived in Windsor from Slovakia in March of 2019. Rolex has been training with his handler, Constable Marc Tremblay, and preparing for deployment.

Patti Pastorius for her tremendous accomplishments with PSD Rony and best of luck to PC Tremblay, serving the community with his new police dog."
