Public elementary school teachers in Windsor-Essex will continue to have disproportionately higher representation on their union's executive board.
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario held elections for its executive board this past week during their annual conference in Toronto.
ETFO Greater Essex County Local President Adelina Cecchin and First Vice-President Mario Spagnolo were both re-elected to the executive.
They represent more than 1,500 teachers across the region.
Spagnolo was first elected to the executive in 2017, while Cecchin has served on the 14-member board since 2009.
The board is also made up of three members from the province's largest local, Toronto District, and members from Durham, Waterloo, Grand Erie, Upper Canada, Hamilton Wentworth, Simcoe, and Ontario North East.
Union President Sam Hammond was acclaimed to the board. Karen Campbell of the Toronto District was elected first vice-president.
