Drivers asked for patience for Hogs for Hospice

Hogs for Hospice is this weekend in Leamington, and the annual ride will see 2,000 motorcyclists take part in a procession to Point Pelee National Park.

The riders will make a stop in Wheatley and then take part in a procession down Erie Street from Wilkinson Drive to Seacliff Park before riding on to Point Pelee National Park.

The group is expected between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday on Erie Street in Leamington, and while everyone is welcome to cheer them on from the sidewalk, organizers urge drivers to practice patience.

The "Tour the Tip" ride is considered the highlight of a weekend of activities that start Friday, August 2 and continue to Sunday, August 4.

Vince Neil of Motley Crue will take the stage at the Seacliff Park Amphitheatre Friday night. Country superstar Chris Janson performs Saturday evening.

The event will also feature a custom bike show, motocross stunt shows, bike games and the OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team.
