Windsor Comicon welcomes three from Star Trek: Discovery

Just as tickets are set to go on sale for this year's edition of Windsor Comicon at Caesars Windsor, organizers have announced three new star additions to the lineup.

Canadian actors Ronnie Rowe Jr. and Sara Mitich will be on-site at the Colosseum all weekend during the anticipated celebration of all things superhero, sci-fi, anime, and horror.

Rowe plays "Lt. R.A. Bryce", the communications officer on the bridge of the U.S.S. Discovery, Star Trek's latest T.V. incarnation. Mitich played "Lt. Commander Airiam" in the first season, and "Lt. Nilsson" in the second.

Leading the guest line-up this year, is another Star Trek: Discovery actor, Doug Jones.  He plays Commander Saru.

Other actors on the roster this year include Shannon Purser or "Barb" from Stranger Things and "Ethel Muggs" from Riverdale, and Walking Dead actor Seth Gilliam who plays "Father Gabriel".

For fans of X-Men, creator Chris Claremont will mingle with fans during the weekend of September 21-22.

Windsor Comicon also presents actor, stunt performer, coordinator, and producer Dickey Beer, best known for his work in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi where he portrayed the bounty hunter "Boba Fett".

This year, Windsor Comicon will benefit the Riverside Minor Baseball Club by raising money for its Farrow Riverside Miracle Park Project.

The club will have a space set up at the front entrance to the Colosseum where it can take donations for the construction of a fully-accessible sports field including a baseball diamond and pools, and inclusive playground in Windsor's east end.

Money will also be raised for the project through 50-50 raffles, auctions, and a sketch battle for charity where artists will compete to draw a superhero.

Tickets for this year's Windsor Comicon go on sale the week of July 22.
