A massive drug bust in Toronto has resulted in the arrest of six people, two of whom are from Windsor.

Toronto police executed a search warrant on June 27 as part of their Project Oz initiative, seizing a large quantity of drugs and currency and arresting four men and two women. The investigation was completed in cooperation with Windsor police.

A man and a woman from Windsor are among those facing multiple charges, which have yet to be proven in court.

Minja Ljumovic, a 36-year-old man from Windsor, is in the custody of Windsor police, charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of cocaine with the intent to sell. A court date has been set for July 22 in Windsor.

Windsor police said they received information that a man was believed to be transporting a quantity of cocaine in a vehicle driving along Highway 401 heading toward Windsor. The suspect vehicle was stopped near the Manning Road exit and a search revealed just over two kilograms of cocaine inside the vehicle.

Danielle Hess, a 29-year-old woman from Windsor, is also in Windsor police custody. She is facing 21 charges including unauthorized possession and careless storage of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of fentanyl, morphine, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and crack cocaine with the purpose of trafficking. She is scheduled to answer the charges in a Windsor court on July 17.

Police searched a home and vehicle on Crawford Avenue and University Avenue and seized a large quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and various illicit pills along with two firearms.

Four men from Toronto are also facing charges. One Windsor man, identified by Toronto police as Sebastian Profetto, 30, is wanted, along with a 33-year-old Cobourg man.

Various drugs have also been seized in the investigation, plus over $533,000 in Canadian money. This was the result of 14 search warrants executed on homes in Toronto, Brampton and Windsor. Six vehicles were also searched. Secret compartments were discovered in three of the vehicles and two of the homes. The total street value of the drugs was not immediately disclosed.
