Accidental house fire causes $70K in damages

Windsor fire crews were busy Sunday evening battling a house fire on Curry Avenue.

According to Windsor Fire's Twitter page, the fire vented from the roof of the 2700 block residence.

Crews managed to put out the fire shortly after it had started around 4:00 p.m.

Windsor Fire confirmed that the fire was caused by an accidental electrical failure of a light fixture in the kitchen.

The fire was contained to the attic and the damages are estimated at $70,000.

No injuries have been reported but two residents have been displaced from their home.
