Amherstburg unveils new website

The Town of Amherstburg is showing off its history and attractions with a website dedicated to tourism.

The website, put together by the town in cooperation with Cinnamon Toast Media Inc., was revealed during a media event Thursday at the historic Park House Museum. Unlike the town's official website, the new site concentrates on the area's long and colourful history, as well as its offerings for visitors.

The site features striking photography of the area's attractions, along with the town's new tourism logo, which brings to mind Amherstburg's colonial past and its place along the Detroit River and Lake Erie. The purpose of the site is to promote the town to new markets, specific tourist demographics and consumers while increasing its already strong social media presence.

Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo said the website will take the town's marketing to a new level.

"Not only will this brand and new website help our town generate brand awareness across key markets, attract an influx of tourism and repeat business, but it will also instil a sense of community pride as we showcase what residents already know about Amherstburg – that it's an exceptional place to be," said DiCarlo in a media release.

In addition to the site, tourism profiles of Amherstburg are also available on Facebook, as well as on Twitter, and Instagram under the handle VisitAmherstburg.
