Leamington invites entrepreneurs to take part in creative competition

Are you an entrepreneur looking for a storefront and some cash to get your business started?

The Municipality of Leamington is launching a creative new competition to fill empty storefronts in Uptown Leamington.

Reinvent This Space invites entrepreneurs to submit an idea of how their business would reinvent a vacant storefront.

A panel of local business leaders will review the proposals and select a shortlist of finalists. The finalists will receive mentoring and support to help develop their plans before they make a final pitch to the panel.

The winner will get a grant of up to up to $15,000 to pay for their rent.

"There are so many great ideas and potential entrepreneurs in our community," said Mayor Hilda MacDonald. "I think we're going to see a lot of really exciting ideas come out of this competition."

Applications are open until early July 2019.
