Teen charged in robbery at Tecumseh fireworks event

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a robbery that took place during a fireworks event in Tecumseh.

Police said a youth called police to report that he was beaten up and had his cellphone stolen by another youth at the annual Victoria Day fireworks show on May 20, 2019.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

As a result, a 17-year-old youth, who can’t be named under the law, has been charged with robbery.

The OPP added it is also investigating several other incidents that took place at this event.
