The Town of Lakeshore is embarking on an ambitious road plan.
Council has approved an additional $625,000 for road projects after residents demanded that more money be spent on roads.
The roads that fit the 2019 Roads Needs Study and are within the budget include:
- Wintermute Avenue - Plant Drive - Kerr Crescent - Greenwood Crescent - Lalonde Street - Park Street - Maple Street - Hale Street - Ball Street - Reed Street
The town considered several factors before adding the roads to the list, including the life cycle of the roads, and what water main and sewer work needs to be done.
“Council has heard residents state they want more funding put towards maintaining roads throughout the municipality," said Mayor Tom Bain. "This funding adds 10 more roads to Lakeshore’s 2019 construction projects to improve our infrastructure this year."
Mayor Bain said it's a big step towards attaining the goal of improving roads in Lakeshore.
