A family of ducks are back together thanks to the help of the GAINS class at Marlborough Public School.
The class of students who have disabilities ranging from autism to cerebral palsy came to the rescue Thursday while out on their daily walk in the community.
"[We saw] a mom duck that was kind of circling the sewer," said teacher Brittany Duckette. "That's really weird behaviour for a duck, so I walked over, and there were 11 baby ducks in there."
She called the kids over for a look while her teaching partner called 311.
Within ten minutes of the call, a worker from the City of Windsor arrived, lifted the grate, and gently scooped up the ducklings in a net.
They immediately waddled away.
