Fight, property damage investigated near Windsor cemetery

Windsor police are looking into an incident in which a vehicle sustained serious damage.

Late Sunday night, a fight brought officers to Shepherd Street East and Lillian Avenue, near St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery, but there has been no confirmation on whether anyone was hurt.

A section of Shepherd Street East was blocked off with police tape with a police cruiser guarding it Monday morning. The damaged vehicle had at least two windows knocked out and damage to the windshield caused by what appeared to be an object thrown at it.

The cemetery hugs the north side of Shepherd Street at that location, with Gignac Park on the south side.

Windsor Police’s Major Crimes Unit told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com that they are investigating. No additional details have been disclosed but will be passed along as they become available.

Anyone with information on what happened that may help investigators is asked to give Windsor police a call at (519) 255-6700.
