Drug investigation in Windsor leads to arrest

A Windsor man has been arrested and charged after a drug investigation in Windsor.

Police searched a property on Tecumseh Road just west of Roseville-Garden Drive and a home on Jessop Street near Conservation Drive Thursday night. They said the suspect was arrested at the Tecumseh Road location and officers seized an unspecified quantity of suspected fentanyl, cash, and suspected cocaine at the home on Jessop.

Michael Bernard, 39 of Windsor, is charged with possession of suspected fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, possession of suspected fentanyl, and possession of suspected cocaine.

"Due to the nature of the investigation and the involvement of multiple locations, the DIGS unit was assisted by several other units including the Emergency Services Unit, the Criminal Investigations Unit, the K-9 Unit, the Traffic Unit, and Patrol Units," said Constable Talya Natyshak in a news release late Friday afternoon.

The allegations have not been proven in court.
