Residents of Tecumseh will once again have the opportunity to have Gwen or Carlotta spayed or neutered.
The town is once again teaming up with local veterinary clinics and hospitals to provide a cat spay-and-neuter voucher program. In an effort to reduce the number of feral cats in Tecumseh, 95 vouchers are being set aside for sterilizing cats, at a value of $50 each.
The program is open to Tecumseh residents only, and the vouchers are reserved for low-income families, according to a release provided by the town. A declaration of income will be required.
A maximum of three vouchers will be issued where the cats are owned, out of three made available. For feral cat caregivers, a maximum of five vouchers will be issued, out of the remaining 92, with no income restrictions.
Vouchers will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
Applications for the program are now being taken, either in person at Tecumseh Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, or online.
