Attack edge Spitfires 4-3

The Windsor Spitfires suffered their sixth straight loss after falling 4-3 to the Owen Sound Attack on Thursday.

The Attack scored two goals early in the first period, but Cole Purboo scored for Windsor 9:28 into the frame to cut the lead in half.

Owen Sound was able to score the only goal of the second period, and Nathan Staios scored for the Spitfires 12 seconds into the third to make keep their deficit at one goal. However,¬†Owen Sound scored once more 7:20 into the period to give the Attack a 4-2 advantage. Purboo scored his second of the night with just over three minutes left in the game, but the Spitfires weren’t able to catch up.

Windsor goaltender Colton Incze made 20 saves out of 24 shots on net.

The Spitfires battle the Flint Firebirds next on Saturday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. in Flint.
