Here's what's open and closed in Windsor for Family Day

Family Day is Monday in Ontario, which means those working at some businesses or government institutions will be home celebrating with their families.

Some establishments are closed or on abbreviated hours for Family Day, which is a statutory holiday in the province.

All provincial and municipal offices are closed Monday, including ServiceOntario offices, though certain transactions can still be performed online.

All Beer Store and LCBO locations are closed Family Day. The same goes for all Windsor Public Library and Essex County Library branches. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday.

Devonshire Mall in Windsor is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for its annual Family Day celebration, and Tecumseh Mall is open from noon to 5 p.m. with a special program of events. Windsor Crossing outlet mall is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday.

Some chain restaurants and big-box stores are closed or on restricted hours Family Day. Be sure to phone ahead to avoid disappointment.

The 311 call centre is closed, but the 211 service line will be open 24 hours as usual Monday.

Residential garbage and recyclable collection will be delayed one day due to the holiday. The weekly recyclable collection is not affected. Commercial garbage collection usually scheduled for Monday will take place as scheduled.

The public drop-off depot on Central Ave and E.C. Row is closed Family Day with regular hours resuming Tuesday.

There is no parking enforcement in Windsor on Monday. Metered street spaces are free. The city's parking payment offices are closed, but payments will still be taken online.

All community centres, customer care centres and most arenas in Windsor are closed Monday except for previously-scheduled rentals. The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the WFCU Centre pool has free swimming from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

In addition to free swimming, the WFCU Centre will offer a slew of free Family Day activities, including pickleball from 9 a.m. to noon and skating from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Spitfires have a 2:05 p.m. game against the Owen Sound Attack, tickets required.

Free, supervised ice skating will be available at Charles Clark Square downtown from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Family Day, weather permitting. The Lanspeary Park rink is closed.

Adventure Bay Family Water Park is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Transit Windsor buses will run on Sunday-holiday schedules. The tunnel bus to Detroit will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Transit Windsor's customer service office downtown will be open Family Day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., though the sales office on North Service Rd E is closed.
