Suspect nabbed inside a stolen vehicle

Windsor police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the theft of a vehicle.

Officers from the WPS Property Crimes Unit began investigating on Monday, and on Wednesday spotted what was believed to be a stolen Cadillac parked in the driveway of a house on Arthur Road near Ypres Street. It was later determined that the licence plate matched that of one belonging to a vehicle stolen from the area of Reginald Street and Ford Boulevard on January 24.

On Thursday morning, officers watched as a man got out of the Cadillac and attempted to remove the licence plate from the front of it. The man was taken into custody without incident. A search of suspect uncovered an unspecified quantity of methamphetamine.

Blake Carter of Windsor has been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of suspected methamphetamine, and two counts of breach of probation.

These charges have not been proven in court.
