What do Windsorites complain the most about?

Once again, dirty, messy yards top the quarterly list of complaints made to the City of Windsor's 311 call centre.

Between October 1 and the end of December last year, there were 948 calls about grass that is too long, garbage, and other debris left in yards.

Last year, there were 993 calls about dirty yards.

Calls for tree maintenance were also down slightly but still accounted for the second largest group of complaints. 311 got 672 calls for tree trimming or removal. In the fourth quarter of 2017, 737 calls were recorded.

"It's nice to see the number of tree calls come down a little," said City Forester, Paul Giroux. "We've worked hard to get to all the urgent issues and as many of the proactive projects as possible, but there's obviously still plenty of work to be done, and these calls help."

The 311 call centre has about 140,000 interactions each year with residents.

The other big items on the list include 590 calls for garbage not collected, 269 for yard waste left by the curb, and 383 for the way people left their trash for pickup.

Another 398 calls came in about rodents, and 334 were made about Transit Windsor.
