Man poses as Good Samaritan, robs elderly woman

Windsor police are searching for a man who told an elderly woman he was going to help her, then proceeded to rob her.

According to police, on January 19 the woman slipped and fell in front of her house on Campbell Avenue, just south of College Avenue. She was unable to get up on her own on after falling and waited a lengthy period of time before a man passing by stopped to assist her.

The man entered the woman's house, used a cordless phone to call her family and then fled the area, taking the phone with him. Police said he also stole several other items, including cash, before leaving the scene. The woman remained on the ground outside her house until another passer-by stopped to help her until her family arrived.

The theft happened sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. The suspect is described as white, 5'8" tall with a slim build and black hair.
