Rise in temperature brings rain and strong winds

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent warning of snow, freezing rain and strong winds.

Some of those wind gusts on Wednesday will be up to 80 km/h.

Ahead of that, the agency said a band of snow will move through the region Tuesday night bringing two to five centimetres. The snow will turn into freezing rain later in the evening and then into rain as a warm front briefly pushes the temperature several degrees above freezing.

A Colorado low is tracking northeasterly across Lake Huron and Georgian Bay Wednesday.

Environment Canada is watching the low closely and may issue freezing rain warnings Tuesday night.
