Spitfires drop one in Saginaw 4-1

The Windsor Spitfires were unable to sustain momentum in Saginaw Sunday night.

Windsor is in fourth place in the OHL West Division with 43 points.

Windsor got on the board first when Daniel D'Amico scored his 19th goal of the year at 9:23 in the opening period. Saginaw scored two goals to take a 2-1 first-intermission lead. Cole Perfetti tied the game, then Bode Wilde provided the go-ahead goal for the Spirit.

There was no scoring in the second period, with the Spits outshooting Saginaw 16-13.

Blade Jenkins added a goal for the Spirit in the third period, and D.J. Busdeker sealed the Spirit win with an empty-net goal late in regulation.

Ivan Prosvetov stopped all but one of the 45 shots he faced in goal for Saginaw. Colton Incze took the loss in goal for Windsor, with 35 saves.

The Spitfires return to the WFCU Centre on Thursday when they take on their rivals, the London Knights.
