Man arrested in Habitat for Humanity break-in

Windsor police say they have charged a suspect in connection with at least one of the break-and-enters at a local non-profit.

Police arrested Scott Kimball, 38, of Windsor on Friday night and charged him with one count of break-and-enter. This charge has yet to be proven in court.

Police have been investigating three break-ins at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store near Devonshire Mall, all within the course of a week. Evidence was seized from the incident that occurred on September 15, 2018. This evidence was sent to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for analysis and Windsor police now say they have a DNA match from one of the samples.

It was not disclosed if there were any matches made pertaining to the other break-ins reported at Habitat For Humanity.

The investigation continues with the resources of the WPS patrol division, forensic identification unit and property crimes unit. Anyone with information on these incidents is asked to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4350.
