Windsor police charge woman after break-and-enter

A 29-year-old woman is facing charges following a break-and-enter at a Windsor home.

Windsor police said it happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Officers were called to a home on Hall Avenue near Tecumseh Road East on a report of a break-and-enter in progress. The resident informed officers upon arrival that he was able to get out of the house, but the intruder was still inside. Police set up a perimeter around the home.

Police K-9 Unit officer Roni was sent in with patrol officers, finding and arresting a woman, whom police believe entered the house through an unlocked door.

The suspect, identified by police as Jessica Cantin, is charged with break-and-enter. This charge has yet to be proven in court.

Police would like to remind residents to make sure their property and vehicles are secured at all times.
