Leamington hangs 'help wanted' sign for summer work

Are you a full-time student looking for summer work?

The Municipality of Leamington has put out the call to fill student positions this year, and has opened the online application process. Since there is no longer a summer jobs lottery in Leamington, the application procedure will be handled like all other job openings.

Positions are available in the human resources department, parks and roads, engineering, and at the Pollution Control Centre. There are also openings for heritage research assistants. Seasonal positions in the marina are also available, as are ongoing jobs as lifeguards and pool attendants.

To be eligible to apply for a student summer position, applicants must be 16 years of age or older by April 1, be eligible to work legally in Canada, and apply through the municipality's official website. Applicants must apply for each individual job they want to be considered for by the posted deadline.

Applicants must also be enrolled full-time at a secondary school, university or college and be able to attach proof of enrollment to their application. This must be obtained through the secondary school's office, or the college or university registrar. Class schedules or payment receipts will not be accepted.

Students must also be willing to work all hours they are scheduled and be able to work some evenings and weekends. If you participated in the summer jobs program before, you must apply again.

Complete information is available on the municipality's website.
