Allstate Canada has identified the day of the year you are most likely to have an accident, and it is no real surprise.
The insurance company has released a study of the location and frequency of traffic accidents over the past ten years in Canada, and it says December 23 is the worst day to be on the roads.
Christmas Day had the least number of collisions reported.
The study also said drivers were more likely to get into a crash on Friday, and least likely to on Sunday.
Essex County had two towns in the top ten list of the safest communities in Ontario to drive in. LaSalle came in number three, and Belle River, number four. Allstate says drivers in those towns have just a four per cent and 4.3 per cent chance of getting into a crash.
Hanmer, Ontario was considered the safest in Ontario with a 3.1 per cent collision rate, while the worst city to drive in across the province was North York.
The insurance company is also looking for suggestions from drivers on ways to make roads safer.
The statistics are based on the frequency of collisions over the past ten years in communities with more than 1,000 vehicles registered by Allstate Canada.
