Gordie Howe Bridge project is now hiring

Are you looking for a job? The largest infrastructure project going on in Canada is looking for some good people.

Bridging North America, the firm taking charge of the construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, is hiring for some key, well-paying positions as construction is now in full swing.

According to the list of job postings, powered by Workforce Windsor-Essex on its own website, over 100 positions have opened up, primarily in construction and professional services.

Positions in the construction field are for four different companies, Dragados Canada, Fluor Canada, AECON and AECOM. They include a safety trainer; survey, quality and equipment managers; an environmental quality lead; field and material engineers; process auditors and more.

Professional services jobs that have been posted, also for the three firms, include those for payroll clerks, receptionists, schedulers, a general bridge superintendent, an environmental coordinator and others.

In addition, the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority is seeking a health and safety manager.

Over 2,800 jobs are expected to be filled as the construction gets going. More information on filling those positions will be discussed at a later date.

With this hiring underway, the WDBA is inviting the public to attend another information session to discuss the latest on the bridge construction, as well as news on the community support initiatives surrounding the project. This session takes place Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mackenzie Hall in Olde Sandwich Towne.
