Alert witnesses catch alleged impaired driver

A woman has been charged with impaired driving, thanks to tips from concerned drivers.

The Ontario Provincial Police said it happened around 8 p.m. Sunday. Dispatchers took a call from someone who witnessed a vehicle that was being driven all over the road on southbound Division Road in Kingsville. The vehicle was apparently crossing the centre line into oncoming traffic.

Additional witnesses contacted police and followed the vehicle into the town of Kingsville until officers arrived and took over. They approached the female driver, who had stopped in a parking lot in a residential area, and noticed signs of impairment.

A 24-year-old Windsor woman has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. In accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, her licence has been suspended and her vehicle impounded.
