Angels needed in Tecumseh

Tecumseh is searching for snow and leaf angels.

Several elderly and disabled residents are looking for help with leaf raking and shovelling this winter.

“We refer to these volunteers as angels as they work magic for our seniors and individuals with disabilities,” said Mayor of Tecumseh Gary McNamara. “We cannot provide the support to these individuals in town without the dedication and support of our volunteers."

This year’s Snow and Leaf Angel program will run until March 31. Last year the program had seven angels cover more than 17 homes.

The town said it's the neighbourly thing to do and a great way for families to volunteer together, or for high school students to complete their 40 hours of community service.

Program details and how to volunteer can be found at www.tecumseh.ca, or by contacting Ext.143. Seniors 65 or older and persons with physical disabilities can also contact the town to apply for assistance.
