Funeral arrangements have been announced for Dr Michelle Prince, the wife of former Windsor Mayor Eddie Francis.
A celebration of Prince's life will be open to the public on Thursday, November 22 at Heritage Park Alliance Church in LaSalle. The hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Her funeral mass will be held at Corpus Christi Church on Cabana Road in Windsor at 10 a.m. Friday, November 23.
There is a private visitation on Wednesday, November 21 at Windsor Chapel in the south Chapel for family and close friends. That is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, Francis thanked the public for their outpouring of sympathy in a Facebook post where he wrote, "please know that each of your kind thoughts and words of reflection will be saved, printed and bound so that my children can carry your memories, love and support of their mother with them for years."
Prince passed away Sunday morning, four years after she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She was 47.
"She always asked me not to let anyone suggest she lost her battle with cancer; as for the last five years she was choosing to live life and not the disease," wrote Francis Sunday. "She celebrated the positives, and in doing so, she inspired many to do the same."
The couple has a son and a daughter.
