A Windsor man accused of B&E, credit card fraud has been arrested

Windsor police have made an arrest following a string of recent crimes.

A 29-year-old Windsor man was arrested on Friday after a break-in on Josephine Avenue near University Avenue Friday afternoon. Police said some items were stolen, including bank cards and those stolen bank cards were then used a short time later at two businesses in the area of Campbell Avenue and College Avenue.

Officers found the suspect, Jonathan Poitras, after viewing surveillance video from the stores and allegedly discovered property on him stolen from the earlier break and enter. Police also accuse Poitras of a break and enter Friday morning at a church at Wyandotte Street and Marentette Avenue and a theft from a vehicle on Thursday on Ouellette Avenue near University Avenue.

Poitras is charged with break and enter, failing to comply with court conditions, possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter tools, unauthorized use of a credit card and fraud.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
