Windsor police now investigating window company

Windsor police say they have been investigating a business that has received multiple complaints.

Police did not reveal the name of the firm, but they have confirmed that the business is a window company.

Sergeant Steve Betteridge said that they have received about 30 complaints about the window company since late September. All of the complaints have been about the same business with similar circumstances. Consumers said that they have paid for work that was not completed and for products that were not delivered.

The WPS Financial Crimes Branch has taken over the investigation and is trying to determine if the complaints have a criminal element to them, or if they fall under a civil matter.

Anyone who believes that they were affected by this matter is asked to call the WPS Financial Crimes Branch at (519) 255-6700 ext. 4330.

The Better Business Bureau of Western Ontario has previously said that it received a larger-than-usual number of complaints about Certified Windows, a Windsor-based window company. However, police have not confirmed if the two sets of complaints are connected.
